Join us in celebrating International TR Month with ATRA!

February is International TR Month and ATRA is thrilled to be partnering with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA). The theme for the month will be “In This Together” and ATRA believes that partnering with CTRA is a fantastic way to demonstrate this idea. In light of the current global pandemic, there is no better time to support one another and recognize that we are all “In This Together.” This year’s International TR Month is going to be one to remember. ATRA and CTRA are In This Together!

TR Month Calendar

Below is ATRA's TR month calendar. This year, ATRA has decided to offer some different ways to engage with ATRA and your fellow RT peers. You will notice that some of their events are in partnership with CTRA. One event ATRA is really looking forward to is the Joint Townhall with CTRA: "In This Together: Navigating the Challenges of a Global Pandemic" on Tuesday February 16th at 8PM EST. On Tuesday February 23 at 8PM, Brent Wolfe, ATRA Executive Director, will host a FB Live Event with ATRA Presidents (Past, Current, and Elect), we hope you can join in to get to know some of the ATRA Board more! In addition, ATRA is pleased to offer a FREE Webinar: Sandy Negley's "What I Have Learned from COVID" from our 2021 ATRA Conference this month.

ATRA will be offering a variety of prizes, including swag, FREE memberships, and FREE REGISTRATION to the 2021 ATRA Conference! More information will be given that week on how to participate!

Friyay Challenge: Winners will be given a FREE ATRA Membership

2/5: Create and Share a Meme or Drawing that represents RT

2/19: Create and share a RT Research Infograph (Great for students!)

Tik Tok Challenge: Winner will be given a FREE Registration to the 2021 ATRA Conference

2/18: Create a RT TikTok/Reel that ATRA can share on our Facebook page. Winner will be determined based off of the most "likes". Some ideas include: Stitching our "Tell me you’re an RT", "How Bizarre", or use your own idea.

February 11, 2021: TR Month Virtual Happy Hour

Please join the ORTA Board of Directors for a virtual happy hour (drinks optional) on February 11th. We will celebrate the accomplishments of our members and profession as well as share fun stories, patient wins (HIPPA compliant), and reminisce about the last year (the good, the bad, and the ugly). A Zoom link will be sent to the membership closer to the event and posted on the website. Three door prizes, including an item from Rec and Chill, will be presented. The event will be from 7:00-8:30 pm EST. Open to members and non-members.

February 12, 2021: "Leading with heaRT" Award

The ORTA Awards Committee is pleased to announce the "Leading with heaRT” Award in celebration of Recreation Therapy Month. Nominations must be received by ORTA no later than February 12, 2021 for consideration. For more information, please click here.

February 24, 2021: Professional Panel for Students
